UVA Visit

So we headed to UVA on Thursday to meet with Jackson's Specialist regarding his spherosytosis, and he thinks he's doing well. The risks are still far greater to take his spleen any earlier than the age of 6 so for now we just may be transfusing him when ever he seems to get a virus that causes a fever. I guess you can be transfused once a month if need be (I never knew that!). We are hoping that this last blood transfusion will get him through the summer-less illness in the summer months! Plus with us leaving for Florida on Thursday, hopefully the sun shine will do us all some good!! :-) Jackson's growing like a weed, skinny as ever but getting really tall. He weighs 31 lbs and is 40 inches tall! He is so excited about Disney world! He is really into the pirates right now so I can't wait to get him his pirate gear!! :-) I'll be sure to post lots of pic's when we return! I just know it's going to be a great vacation! See you in March!

Counting the days til Disney!!

Well we have about 10 days before we head down to disney!! We are all very excited to be getting outta dodge, as they say!!! This is the first time in the four years we are taking a family vacation, so as you can imagine it has been a long time coming. Zach has been so busy with the business that he hasn't been able to take the time off til now! I'll be sure take tons of pictures and post them when we get back on March 10th! For now here are some shots we took over the weekend. Jackson seems to be doing much better after the transfusion and we meet with his Specialist on Thursday so I'll keep you posted on what they decide is best for him at this time. Max is growing like a weed, he's 14 lbs and 23 1/2 inches long!! He has discovered his voice and makes lots of ahhhhhh, oooohhhhhhhh's and his laugh is just precious!! I love to hear the boys laughing together!!! :-)

3rd times a charm, maybe???

So we started the weekend off sick again! Jackson and I both were running fevers so I made us Dr.s appt.s on Saturday and sure enough Jackson's blood count was low. This meant we needed to get in touch with our specialist at UVA. With Jackson's condition you can always tell when he's run down, he gets real pale, yellow eyes and often says he's cold. So we got ahold of our Specialist and of course they needed to see him. So I'm sick with an upper respitory infection, feeling really crummy and because I'm nursing I can't leave, this meant I needed to stay home with Max & Daddy was going to take Jackson and head up to UVA for the night. So as a mother I felt horrible not going with my little boy but it had to be this way. Jackson knew he was in care with Daddy by his side!! So once they arrived at UVA, Jackson's temp had soared to 102.8 and was really not feeling well. After may tests they realized the best option for Jack was to have another blood transfusion. This will be his 3rd in his 3 short years. Zach said he did really well, considering they have such a hard time finding a vein in Jackson and it takes a good 3-4 times being poked before they get it. But they did and the transfusion took place while he slept. By morning, his blood count was back up to were it needs to be and he seemed to be feeling better Zach said. Now our next step is talking with our specialist and determining when to do surgery. We meet with them in 2 weeks and we'll go from there. For now, Jackson seems to be feeling better and getting his energy back. Here are some pic's I took of the boys together. It was really quite around here without Jackson and I think Max really missed hearing his big brothers voice! I'll keep everyone posted on his condition, but for now please keep him in your prayers! Thank you! :-)

Here are some pictures of Max in the Jumparoo! He loves to jump when Jackson bounces it for him, it's so cute to watch them together! We are counting down the days til Disney, 21 days, 10 hours and 50 min minutes to be exact! We have a countdown going on the Disney website!! :-) I can't wait to see Jackson's face when he sees all the animals outside our balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge! We are so excited!! :-)
